IMPORT REGULATIONS
Pets
The following requirements must be met to import your pet into Cote d'Ivoire:
- You must obtain a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of the date of departure. This should state that your pet is in good health, is free from contagious diseases, and has received the necessary vaccinations.
- Your pet must have been given a rabies vaccination, and you will need to provide proof that it has been administered. The vaccination should be administered at least 21 days before travel.
- It is advised that you check your country's requirement for microchip identification before entering Cote d'Ivoire.
- An import permit is required for unaccompanied pets or those being imported for commercial purposes. It is not a requirement for dogs and cats travelling with their owners.
- For other pets, such as birds, reptiles or rodents, you may need both a health certificate and an import permit.
- Pets must enter Cote d'Ivoire via Port Bouet International Airport. Once you enter, a customs inspection may be conducted, however this is usually not required if documents are in order.
