IMPORT REGULATIONS
Pets
An international veterinary health certificate must be obtained from the competent authority of the country of origin.The certificate should include a record of the animal's details, including their name, breed, species, age, sex, marking and name of owner. It should include all details of the animal's up to date vaccinations, including which vaccine used, the manufacturer and a signature from an official veterinarian.The animal must have been vaccinated against rabies not less than 14 days or more than 1 year prior to the date of travel.You will need a Sanitary and Phytosanitary Import Clearance (SPSIC) from the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) before importing.The minimum age for dogs and cats is 3.5 months.For further information, please visit Pet/Animals & Household Plants.
Free to Import
Tobacco (restricted to travellers 18 years and over)
- 2 reams of tobacco;
- 50 sticks of cigars; or
- 250g of pipe tobacco.
Alcohol (restricted to travellers 18 years and over)
- 2 bottles of alcohol (with a total value of ₱10,000 or less).
Currency
- Travellers may only import funds exceeding ₱10,000 with permission from
the Bank Sentral ng
Pilipinas.
- Funds of US$10,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency, or over must
be declared to the customs authorities.
Other Goods
- Filipino nationals 18 years or over may bring in other goods duty free
up to the value of US$2000, and up to the value of US$250 for Filipino
nationals under 18.
- Other travellers 18 years or over may bring in other goods duty free up
to the value of US$1000, and up to the value of US$250 for travellers under
18.
Prohibited
The following are goods which cannot be brought into the country.
- Written of printed articles in any form containing any matter advocating
or inciting treason against the government of the Philippines.
- Written of printed articles in any form containing any threat to take
the life of, or inflict bodily harm upon any person in the Philippines.
- Prints articles, films, and other media of an obscene or immoral
character.
- Objects or medicines intended or adaptable for illegal abortions, and related publications.
- Good manufactured in whole or in part of gold, silver or other precious metals or alloys.
- Adulterated or misbranded food or goods for human consumption.
- Adulterated or misbranded drugs in violation of relevant laws.
Restricted
These goods are strictly regulated, and in most cases require a permit to be obtained
prior to arrival.
- Dynamite, gunpowder, ammunitions and other explosives, firearms and weapons of war.
- Roulette wheels, gambling outfits, loaded rice, marked cards, machines or mechanical devices used in gambling.
- Lottery and sweepstake tickets, except advertisements thereof.
- Opium pipes or parts thereof.
- Plants and their derivative products, such as fruit, must be accompanied
by a phytosanitary certificate from the relevant government agency at the

- Marijuana, opium, poppies, coca leaves, heroin or other narcotics.
EXPORT REGULATIONS
Prohibited
The following are goods which cannot be taken out of the country.

Restricted
These goods are strictly regulated, and in most cases require a permit to be obtained
prior to departure.
- Travellers may only export funds exceeding ₱10,000 with permission from
the Bank Sentral ng Pilipinas.
- Funds of US$10,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency, or over must
be declared to the customs authorities.
